A Cup of Optimism

Last year I had to face the brutality of job search in the crisis times. Oh, how unpleasant it was. Millions of people all over the world were facing the same if not a much worse kind of sitution. In US alone, the number of employed people is over 13 million. So, what does the world of innovation have to offer for those in need of job?

Here is an answer proposed by two students, Rodrigo de Castro and Joan Unzer, who came up with a concept for a Starbucks campaign. Unemployed people could print their resumes on Starbucks coffee cups, potentially reaching a huge audience of business people every day.

Not sure about the number of people who would actually find a job through such campaign. After all, the best way to find a suitable job is to keep your job search targeted. However, the loyalty for Starbucks would probably increase substantially. The social effects alone would be outstanding!

Yet for some reason all that Starbucks has to say about it is:
"The idea is very creative and is a great story, but it is not a program we currently have in place."
Come on, Starbucks!
