Social Media Taking April Fool's Day Seriously

Each year, on the first of April, someone fools me really bad. I have been made believe that I'm being kicked out of my dorm room, withdrawn from a university, fired, once I have even been convinced that we are being followed by the aliens (give me a break, I was 5).

But this year, this year everything seemed to fine, so smooth, so perfect. Not even a prank call, not even a sour cupcake from grandma, not even a scare from daddy. I thought this is finally it, the karma for stealing that pencil sharpner in 3rd grade is gone! From now on, I'm gonna have a date each Valentine's Day, a party to go to each New Year, and hell with it, let's go big - I'm gonna receive a useful present for my Birthday Day!

But oh no... no no no no no. That must have been a very important pencil sharpener for some Ancient God, becuase once I got home, he sent the whole crew of the Internet to come and get me.

Let us start with the worst:

Dear Gmail, it is not funny that I showed my whole family your 'Motion control'. It is not funny that my 76 year old grandmother believed that now that computers can be controled by gestures, she can die in peace. It is not funny, that I forwarded, re-posted and raved about your new invention just to find out the world's biggest discovery and the internet's meanest joke. Not funny, Gmail.

Dear Linkedin,

Be serious!!! You are a networking website, you are supposed to connect me to the right people, and for once, oh for once, I though you are finally starting to fulfill your purpose, but oh, no.. not again.

Dear YouTube,

You are good, Youtube. Your 1911 button was pretty awesome :D Should have kept it. Also, bring back the vuvuzela, I miss it badly.

Dear Facebook and Blogger,

I am disappointed. Come up with something fun next year!
