I am one of those people who would not give up the smell of books for any of the world's wonders. I don't care how light, convenient, cheap and ergonomic Kindle is - I will simply lose half of the pleasure if I can't bury my nose deep into the pages before starting a new chapter. I believe the issue here is deeper than just the smell and feel of books; it is about perceiving information. The 'sensors' will never understand the 'intuitors' fully. No we won't.
The creators of these candles from Assouline, must have a similar view of life. They must have really wanted to travel without the heavy weight of books, but simply did not know how to start reading an e-book without the smell of fresh pages.
Chances are high those guys also wanted to get a Wii, but riding a bike without the smell of a biker jacket seemed a little awkward. So, they had to also created a candle that smells just like leather...
...and one with a wooden scent, for those who are into strange odors.
Those sure come in a little pricey ($45), but hey, you will be saving money on that Kindle after all...
